Welcome to this week’s issue of 7 Weekly Wonders by Wondercraft. Today's highlights: new lineup of AI podcasts, Spotify and Apple now include AI stipulations in contracts, an Australian True Crime pod going global, and closing with a quote from a truly inspirational person: Naval Ravikant. 🧘‍♂️

1. New lineup of daily podcasts creating a buzz

One major advantage of using Wondercraft for content creation is the ease of production, leading to consistent episode releases. A renowned creator has leveraged this benefit, and just this week, he and his team launched four daily podcasts:

Formula 1 Daily, Manchester United Daily, History Retold, True Crime

2. Spotify's latest deal with Ringer includes a notable AI clause

“... Spotify must obtain consent from union employees in order to clone their voices. [...] As generative audio AI improves, it is likely there will be a point where a host's voice is indistinguishable from its AI clone.”

The contract, for a time, keeps those scenarios at bay. The big caveat is with AI-enabled translations.

“Spotify does not need permission from employees to translate their audio into other languages, using digital replicas of their own voices.”

3. Australia’s highest rated True Crime Podcast goes global with a Spanish language version

"One Minute Remaining" is a True Crime podcast where host Jack interviews inmates serving life sentences, delving into their crimes from their perspective and exploring inmate life. Following its success in recent years, Jack utilized Wondercraft to create a Spanish dubbed version. The podcast, now titled "Un Minuto Restante" is available on Spotify, Apple, and other platforms.

A quick note: Our translators have experienced numerous podcasts to date, but this was the first time they found themselves completely captivated by the narrative... This podcast is something special - give it a listen!

4. Here's the scoop on what we've been up 🥣

  • If you've been using Wondercraft this week, you'll see that the "Produce Full Track" feature now only deducts credits for the edits you've made, instead of charging for the entire length. This update, a popular request, enables users to preview the full audio instead of just sections.
  • Continuing on the topic of credit usage, you can now see exactly how and on what you've spent credits. Just go to Settings > Manage Subscription for an easy way to track your consumption.

5. Here’s what’s coming next 👀

Here's what's high on our agenda for the next updates:

  • We're looking to overhaul our video feature. While we’ve been tracking this for a while, the many updates in the AI Video space have left us weighing various options. We're eager to get your input on the types of video features you believe would resonate most with your audience, and we'll do our best to incorporate your feedback.

6. Wondercraft now has workspaces (in beta)

Your team can now collaborate in a shared Workspace. What are the advantages?

  • Everyone can work on the same projects together.
  • Team members can provide feedback on each other's work, similar to Google Docs and Notion.
  • You can assign various permission levels: Owner, Editor, Producer (with restrictions on deletion).
  • Plus, more features to explore.

This feature requires activation on your account. If you're interested in setting it up, please reply to this email.

7. Closing with a Wonderful quote

With Easter and Ramadan around us, a more spiritual quote this week.

A fit body, a calm mind, a house full of love. These things cannot be bought  -  they must be earned. - Naval Ravikant
